The Glen Eira Basketball Club has secured a major coup when they were successful in their tender bid for the 3 court stadium at the new Glen Eira Sports ad Aquatic Centre (GESAC) under construction on East Boundary Road in East Bentleigh.

The Warriors will manage basketball competitions and programs at the new 42 million dollar centre on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

This represents a major leap in the Warriors development with a new home for the club, the ability to create and develop competitions, with the corresponding increase in player, coach and referee depth and development.
It also gives the club the opportunity to place itself on a prosperous financial path with the ability to generate revenue and attract sponsors.

The facility is due for completion sometime between October and December  this year. It's located in an ideal demographic with major schools surrounding it. Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) will be one of the premier leisure facilities in Melbourne and one of the best in Australia.

It has been developed by Glen Eira City Council to service the entire community in a one-stop-shop approach. There will be facilities for everyone aged from six weeks to 75 years.

Some of the facilities include:

· six separate pools all designed for different customers;
·
two water slides and an array of interactive water features;
·
three court indoor sports stadium;
·
huge 1,000 square metre gymnasium;
·
four separate program spaces for group exercise; and
·
a range of complementary health and wellbeing services on-site.

On top of great facilities, the GESAC staff will be committed to great customer service and look forward to serving you soon! For parents there will be cafes and shops at the facility so you can relax while the kids play.

This is an unbelievable development for our club and one that represents great opportunity for our members.
The club will need a significant volunteer group to ensure we take full advantage of this significant development in the clubs fortunes. If you are willing to help in a number of roles we have identified for the club and this facility please contact Bob Mann on 0468 543 173 or via his e-mail at bob_mann@warriorsbasketball.org
