The Warriors not only run junior representative teams they also have open age representative teams. Currently this is a Men's team playing in the MMBL which is a rep comp played on Wednesday nights across Melbourne. The Warriors however are looking to expand to both a Men's and Women's team and hope to have the Men's squad accepted into the BIG V in 2012, pending BIG V approval. Ultimately the Warriors would look to enter a BIG V Men's and Women's team The BIG V is the State's top open age competition outside the NBL and is played across Victoria in a winter based competition conducted between March and August. Games are hosted on a home and away basis on weekends on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons and is a great way to bring the Association together in a common cause. It will be even more exciting to be playing BIG V home matches at the new GESAC venue. The squad is being groomed by former BIG V Coach Bob Mann who enjoyed significant success at this level at McKinnon . His teams made four successive finals campaigns, three straight Grand Finals and with the Assistance of fellow Warriors coach Shawn King took out the 2009 title. These teams were built around youngsters developed through the McKinnon junior program and Bob hopes to employ a similar strategy over a long period at the Warriors.
